Daddy we don’t blow the wind…

…the wind blows us!”

Okay our five year old Malakai hit the bulls eye recently with this little comment.
He and I were walking outside in Mt. Lehman just hours before I left for a men’s retreat
on Pender Island.  I was stressed about a few things and having one of those
days when anxiety seemed closer than usual.  His comment had an immediate
impact, almost like a slap in my face, “Steve, relax and align yourself toward Me
and let My Wind blow you in a good direction.”

So I left Malakai on that Friday and joined a group of seven young men
from Langley on Pender Island.  We aligned ourselves toward God as we
quieted our hearts and listened together throughout the weekend. It was
an inspiration to see them dive in to listening to God.  We experienced
God guiding us through nature, through Scripture, impressions, strange
coincidences and more.

Last week we said goodbye to the TREK participants who finished their
training at MARK Centre in Abbotsford and flew off to Ukraine, Germany,
and the Philippines.

Tomorrow Lorie and Cathy will lead a half-day retreat on Ash Wednesday
preparing people for the season of Lent.

And one more reminder of Malakai’s five year old theological brilliance:

“Daddy we don’t blow the wind, the wind blows us!”

serving some who will inspire others,

One Response to Daddy we don’t blow the wind…

  1. Ann Yeo says:

So true! Holy Spirit, remind us and help us to know that you created the Wind and we are to trust in the wind of the HS and align with it with confidence and peace.
